The annual Rotary Gala in Vincennes is a
wonderful evening of fun, food, and
finance as the patrons bid on numerous
silent auction items donated by local and
area merchants and members, and
participate in a live auction, all to raise
money for the Vincennes Rotary Club
Foundation.
The Gala, held this year on Jan 31st, has
been a very popular event for the last 12
years, earning in excess of $14,000 each
year. Tickets at $50, entitle attendees to a
delicious dinner with wine, and an
opportunity to win $1000 in a reverse raffle,
held during the evening. Silent auction
items include tool sets, paintings, wine
baskets, gift certificates from local
merchants, and more.
The highlight of the evening was a live
auction of 35 items including a vacation
package, a Moses Malone autographed
basketball, and Pacer Tickets. The
proceeds for the Foundation from the
evening are returned to the community in
the form of scholarships for high school
graduates, grants to local non-profit
organizations, and other local projects
such as Rotary Pointe.
