Annual Rotary Gala help Vincennes
The annual Rotary Gala in Vincennes is a wonderful evening of fun, food, and finance as the patrons bid on numerous silent auction items donated by local and area merchants and members, and participate in a live auction, all to raise money for the Vincennes Rotay Club Foundation.
The event, held the last Saturday in January at the Eagles Lodge, has been a very popular event for the last 12 years, earning in excess of $15,000 each year.
Tickets at $100, entitle a couple to a delicious dinner with wine, and an opportunity to win $1000 in a reverse raffle., held during the evening. Silent auction items include tool sets, paintings, wine baskets, IU and Pacer basketball tickets, gift certificates from local merchants, and more.
The highlight of the evening is a live auction of 10 to 12 items, including Dinner for 8, A $1000 Advertising package, custom made jewelry and even use of a 7-day vacation condominium.
The proceeds for the Foundation from the evening are returned to the community in the form of scholarships for high school graduates, grants to local non-profit organizations, and other local projects such as Rotary Pointe.
